Packet Broker Integration
Peering and roaming between LoRaWAN networks; seamless coverage extension without deploying more gateways.
Network Management
About Packet Broker Integration
Packet Broker connects The Things Stack to other LoRaWAN networks so they can exchange traffic. Gateways in one network can pick up messages from devices registered in another, and route them to the right network server. This lets you extend coverage by using gateways that are already deployed, instead of installing your own everywhere.
How peering works
Each network decides what it shares and with whom. Routing policies control which networks may receive your gateway traffic and which traffic you accept from others, so you keep full control over your network while still benefiting from shared coverage.
Benefits of Packet Broker Integration
Wider coverage: Use gateways from peered networks, including The Things Network, to reach devices outside your own footprint.
Roaming: Devices keep communicating when they move between areas covered by different networks.
Lower deployment cost: Fewer gateways needed to cover large or remote areas.
Policy control: Decide per network what you forward and what you accept.
